Lecterns
A lectern is a stand designed to accommodate the Gospel, crosses, and icons. It looks like a tall and narrow rectangular table with an oblique tabletop. The lower part is framed by a small side.
The central lectern is different with its massiveness and sustainability, designed for permanent use in one place — opposite the altar in front of the iconostasis for divine services.
Portable lecterns are more compact, equipped with hidden wheels.
Advantages of a marble lectern
Marble is one of the best materials for making lecterns. The stone is characterized by increased strength, resistant to mechanical influences and adverse external conditions: it does not crack under temperature fluctuations, does not lose brightness under the influence of sunlight and does not deform upon contact with water. Marble lecterns have maintained their decent look for centuries.
The natural texture and rich palette of stone shades make each piece unique. The aesthetics of the material emphasize the grandeur of the temple interior.
Marble lecterns are easy to care for and can be easily cleaned with special tools, which makes it much easier to maintain cleanliness in the temple.
To make the lecterns more expressive, they can be decorated with carved patterns using the technique of undercuts, providing depth and volume of the ornament. A lectern with cast bronze or brass details decorated with gilding or silvering is made-to-order individually.
